It was just another sh!@#y day in paradise when we were on system patrol. The early evening tend to bring out the worst in people and tonight was going to be no exception. My wing and I had just finished our loop around the white dwarf sun when the call came out in local. A thief had snatched a load of harvested ore in one of the belts and the miner was getting hot on local coms.
We responded with practiced position. First ganging the irate miner then quickly going to warp. WF cloaked his ship Falcon class recon ship on transit and once in the roid belt moved into position over the miner.
I hit my mega pulse engine thrusters and set a course for the belt myself. I had one eye on the secured gang chat and the other on my velocity. I wanted to make sure I could go to warp in an instant once the word came out and sure enough it did.
The perpetrator of the crime had come back in a cormorant class destroyer. He quickly moved on the storage can and took another load. At that instant WF gave the go command and I was on my way. My Harpy class tech II frigate came out of warp only 10km from the target, the red flashing light on consol told concord he was in the process of committing a crime. The red light told me he was dead meat flying a hunk of space scrap.
I quickly locked him and activated my warp scrambler. Mine was of the 2 pulse scrambler type so I had to get in close. As luck would have it I knew the cormorant only has one low slot so the best this guy could hope for was that his attacker didnÆt have the what I was carrying. When he could no longer go to warp the counter attacking began. The one thing the cormorant is good at is killing frigates. The thief opened up on me with seven prototype rail guns loaded to bear with antimatter rounds. The shells struck my shields with pin point accuracy dropping the effectiveness to 80% after the 1st volley.
I countered by setting my orbit to 500m and hit the target with a Prototype Webber, effectively reducing his speed to that of a fast snail. The light knave energy sucker I hit him with would keep my shield boost going for some time if he happened to mount any real counter attack. I then activated my Lords Light rocket launcher, spewing out EM damage rockets at the trapped ship. The three tech two ion blasters with antimatter rounds would end this fight fast.
During this time WF dropped his cloak and locked the cormorant as well. His four tech II multispectral jammers were enough to knock out a battleship electronic array and so had no trouble overloading the destroyersÆ ability to keep its lock. He then launched two explosive tipped heavy missiles at the target but the target was destroyed just before the deadly missiles made contact.
As the smoke cleared from the blast the pod pilot could be seen floating in the wreckage that was once his ship. He quickly orientated his pod and headed for the nearest jump gate. He knew now that such action would be met with force and he wanted nothing to do with it.
We sent the call out to local that the thief had been destroyed and that the pilot had left the system. A few cheers came back and one pilot said, ôItÆs nice to know we have a professional thief hunter in systemö.
ThatÆs right I thought. Make sure you all know there is a new sheriff in town and he donÆt take kindly to ore thieves.
WF and I set our course and continued our patrol. We didnÆt get more that six AUs out when a call came in from one of our officers on deep patrol in 0.4 space that pirates were massing in the system. WF and I radioed C&C that we were responding, but thatÆs another story for another dayàAs we made the jump out of system I couldnÆt help thinking, ôYep it was just another sh!@#y day in paradiseö.

The 0.4 Response
We were answering a call from one of our officers on deep patrol in 0.4 space. It seems a gang of thugs had moved on the system and they were looking for easy kills. Upon jumping in system we made a quick randevu with sheriff DM and his Recon patrol ship, who gave us the usual facts, names, ship types, predictable movements and such. Once the report was done we chose to set out and see what we could find. To cover more ground the two recon ships split up and started checking all the usual thug hangouts. I was stuck checking the stations as my Harp had no cloak and I would need the limited sentry guns to help me out in case of attack.
Soon enough WF responded with a positive contact. A Ferox class Battle Cruiser was in one of the roid belts. He fit the description DM had given as one of the thugs that came into system, but we had to be sure. His profile said anti pirate so WF was ordered to keep him at optimal range and observe while DM warped into the belt from the other direction under cloak. Once the two recon ships were set up the orders fell on me.
I set course for the riod system and went to warp. My small Harpy came out of warp only 5km from the suspect as he was just finishing off the last NPC rat. The Ferox bristled with an array of guns and electronic gear set up to obviously take on both NPC and PC.
I sent out a hail in local chat and began to move towards a warp out point when I was targeted. Before I could say WTF in local I had been scrambled, webbed, jammed, and was having my capacitor drained. This guy was for real!
I wanted to open up with my weapons hoping to keep him distracted as the two cloaked recon ships would need time to reset there scanners after dropping the cloaks. Once I broke the jamming I blasted away at his shields with all I had only to see them full recharge in two seconds. In response his medium blaster were ripping small holes in my defenses but what was more alarming was that my capacitor was about gone with no chance of recharging was in my future.

At that point he launched Acolyte drones and sent them at me. I shot down the 1st drone thinking that the explosion would cover the decloaking recon ships. The drone went up in a blaze of gun fire and I quickly moved to the next one.
I was alarmed to see that my shields were at critical levels and the last of my capacitor was draining away. Lucky for me our combat training at the academy covered such a case and I knew exactly what to do. As the last bit of energy drained away I slammed on the emergency capacitor fusion injector and the shield boost at the same time. The hum of the coils filled the ship as all system came back online and my shield went to full strength. I repeated the process 2 more times before the shooting from the Ferox stopped.
DM had moved in from behind and had the mighty Battle Cruiser in a webbing stasis field. A light blue circular beam emitted from the Recon ships dish array told me the Ferox would be going no place real fast. From the other side WF had decloaked as well and was sending out a jamming beam t make sure no further attacks would be coming form the enemy ship.
But the drones were still on me and they were doing more damage than the Battle Cruiser was. Now that I was free from the webbing and scrambling I set course out of the belt. A short warp away and I had full capacitor and shield at my disposal. I quickly returned to find the Feroxs shields just about down. I set my orbit and began blasting away. The end came fast for the retched thug as it did for the pilot inside. I locked his pod and sent him packing to his rebirth chamber. I new he would be back but at least I would have the satisfaction of knowing his clone would have to take me on next time.
We moved out of system with a pile of T2 gear confiscated from the thug. It would be logged into the store room as evidence and latter auctioned off at the policemenÆs ball. The proceeds would be donated to local victims of crime.
As we headed back to base we know the fight would never be over. We knew that what we did would not win us any medals. We knew all the cards were in the hands of the thugs and that we were just the thin line of blue between the darkness and the light. But we also knew that what we did made the universe that much safer and a better place for our children.

Sitting in the smoke filled morning briefing, I looked around to see who was about. Of the 20 or so officers I noticed not one was a rebirth. These hard core pilots had set about to do the right thing and filled me with a sense of pride knowing we chose the path less traveled in the galaxy.
Sure it was easy to make a fast buck killing off some noob looking to see what low sec space was about. Heck might even be a bit of fun. But the thing was that it was just too easy. If you wanted a real challenge you hunted the pirates. This was the game of life set on hard mode. Everyone knows the pirates hold all the cards. They set the time they attack. They could case the victim to make sure they had what it took to take him down. All you could do was tried to set a few of them, answer a few emergency calls. And with any luck take one or two our and set them back a nice chunk of change.
Our job was just to keep the honest people honest and to deal with the rest as best we could. So far it had worked. Things were better in our little corner of the galaxy, well they were till todayà
The watch commander came in and everyone put down their drinks and sat up to at least give the appliance they were paying attention.
The watch commander went about with the normal briefing info, nothing really new. A few macro miners had tried to come back but they were quickly dispatched. They were the driving force behind the formation of our team. As the macro miners dried up we naturally branched out with our new found expertise and began running off alt ore thieves and small time pirates. We always gave a warning for them to take it to 00 and stop bothering the guys trying to make a bit of cash in high sec space.
Anyway at the end of the briefing the watch commander lays a bomb on us. He says our operations are to stop in two the 3 low sec systems on our patrol. It seems we have a clean system declaration with a few of the pirate bands. One system is to be set aside for commerce while the other 2 are to be allowed full pvp activity.
You could hear the murmurs from the other pilots; we were all thinking the same thing. Had the organization sold out? Had we placed our ships and lives on the line just so the so called leaders of our group could make a deal with the thugs?
It didnÆt take long for a few of the pilots to start asking questions. We all wanted to know what this was all about. DM spoke up first and said, ôSir whatÆs the deal? Why are we giving up the fight?
Nods of agreement could be seen and well soft ôyeahsö of agreement filled the room.
The watch commander raised his hands to calm the group before talking.
ôI fully agree with you guys. I donÆt like this any more than you do. But the fact is we donÆt have the men to police all three low sec systems. ItÆs just a matter of numbers. We have the chance here to make one system safe, safe for others to come and go as they like with out having to worry about being hijacked while mining or doing some trade runs in system.
We have an agreement with the local crime bosses that our system will not be invaded and will become a non combat zone as long as we keep our law enforcement death squads out of the other two systems.

I instantly knew this for what it was. It was a set up. The crime bosses were no fools and they knew that the one big problem they had with us was that we hit different areas at different times. Their losses were mounting and the days of easy noob killing was stating to cost a pretty penny.
Sure the truce might last a while, just long enough for them to plan an attack and then come give us a bloody nose. They wanted payback in a bad way and this was their chance to get it.
We would be forced to spending more and more time securing the one system while the crime bosses got fat off the weak and unsuspecting.
The words of the Watch commander came back into focus as he finished. So as of now we will be moving our HQ and C&C to our new low sec system. And the new patrol wroughts will be posted in the hall.
That is allà
That is all? Yeah thatÆs right that is all. So for now our Enforcer death squads have been corralled. But we all know that we will have to make a choice at some point. The words of the famous Samurai Lord Hidioshi come to mind. ôEven at a time of peace, a warrior still keeps his sword at his sideö.
We plan to not only keep that sword at our side but more so we plan to keep that sword well honed. Make no mistake, our resolve is complete. And they know it. I think thatÆs what scares the thugs mostà

Yes I know how guns work. But from your words I would think you have very little clue. He locked me 1st. He fired 1st. If these action would not have been taken he would still have his ship gear, and implants.
You know what you sound like to me? You sound like maybe you are the pilot we jacked. You must be! No one else would try to argue such a poor position.
If you are then I would say next time keep it in your pants Mr. and then maybe you wonÆt lose your nice items bought off the blood of the innocent.
The Gal T2 frigate we checked out made the right choice and walked away with everything she had.
You know what? IÆm not going to respond to your poorly argued post any more. You were tried and found guilty. And you paid the price. So say the Enforcers. So go crawl back in your hole thug!

Edited by: War Drumb on 16/08/2006 20:52:27 Edited by: War Drumb on 16/08/2006 20:50:55 The Night Shift
The night sift has always been the bastard child of the Enforcers. All the sweet assignments happen on the day shift when the normal people are out. Fleets of Enforces tap into its vast intelligence network and then set up operations that take out 20 or 30 pirates in a day. The night shift on the other hand gets stuck with all the caffeine freaks looking to take advantage of the lack of numbers in space. Hauling these guys into station usually in tales some heavy duty restraints and a muzzle. Last night I had Jacker actually try to bite me.
In case you didnÆt know a Jacker is a guy that tries to disable youÆre ship and then hold it for ransom. We respond to these distress calls about 10 times a week in our area. If we have an officer nearby we might be able to save the ship but most the time the Jacker takes the ship out and if we are lucky we take him out as well.
Last night I pulled a cherry of an assignment. I was tasked with freighter escort duty. I went to supply and pulled the usual rec. for this type of mission, extra ration of coffee and ammo then loaded them on my ship. The way I see it, these missions tend to go one of two ways. The first is nothing happens. And the freighters are so slow even with instas that you need the extra coffee rations just to stay awake. As an escort itÆs our job to jump the guy from gate to gate all he does is activate the gate and move to the next system. So we spend a lot of time checking our system scanners and watching the maps for ship concentrations. For the most part our scouts have already checked the wrought so we know if there is going to be trouble well in advance.
The second way this kind of mission can go is when you get jumped by loggies. Loggies are guys that get inside information that youÆre coming. Or they set up system traps hoping to ambush some poor sap that saw only one guy in system. Loggies will have eyes all over and when the convoy enters the system hey log back in and warp right on top of you. At this point itÆs a nock down drag out fight. Our job is to keep the tacklers off the freighter long enough for it to get away. Then we make best speed out of the combat area.
Last night I was hoping for the coffee variety mission as I had a nice holoreal I wanted to watch while the operation was going down but it was just my luck, it was an ammo mission. We were 4 jumps into low sec space with 4 more to go when our scouts reported an alt shuttle pilots in system. They were asked to move along as this was official Enforcer business but they werenÆt going. They knew we wouldnÆt hit them and they were playing that against us.
I wanted to tell them to blast them anyway. Our operation was on the line and why should I be hung up with the morality of a shuttle loss. Hell I would pay for the damn ship myself if that was the issue. But our code was not yielding. We are a corporation ruled by laws. And these laws are dully mandated by the members. I think IÆm going to put in a revision on how we deal with gate campers come the next council meeting.
I could tell the tension was staring to rise as we approached the gate. The next jump would bring action or nothing at all. The mission commander called C&C for orders and requested back up. He wanted to make sure we could deal with any threat if and when it happened.
We had to play this by the numbers. We had to assume the thugs held all the cards. They knew our force size and ship types. We even had to assume they had us passive scanned so they knew our ship load outs and cargo as well. In our line of work itÆs all about planning for the worst and hopping for the best.

Edited by: War Drumb on 16/08/2006 21:43:50 The call came back on gang chat form C&C. Lucky for us we had two Blastathons four jumps out that answered the call. C&C directed them to our location and they would be in system in two minutes. My palms stated to sweat. Two minutes can seem like a long time when you have an unknown force sitting on the other side of a jump gate. One thing was for sure. The thugs didnÆt have an inside man. If they had they would have come at us at that moment and hit us with everything at once. If they had they would most likely have taken us out along with the freighter.

But a very entertaining read and well written. Is this pure fiction, or is there a corp behind it? I would love to read more about them and what their membership requirements are.
No Kody these are real stories with game play flavor added to them. But the names have been changed to protect the innocent.
As for joining, I am sure you can understand that we donÆt take in recruits. Each member of our team was secretly interviewed and watched before being approached. If you want in on our unit I would suggest you start up an enforcer unit in your area and get them working. Or do it yourself. Your action will attract out attention and after a time you will be contacted.
It takes a certain type of character to be an enforcer. ItÆs not for the faint of heart. Or morally weak.

Edited by: War Drumb on 17/08/2006 22:37:07 A Blastathron is a Gallente Megathron battleship armed to the teeth with close in blaster type weapons. In a close in fight these thing can really deal out the damage. I have to admit I sighed with relief when they were one jump out. They were ordered to hold there as we didnÆt want to alert any attacking force that additional reinforcement s were inbound and that they were set up for short range battle.
The recon scout ships on the other side of the gate move out 100 km and began an orbit about the gate. One circled the gate in the x-axis and the other in the y-axis. Their job was to keep an eye out for snipers. The sniper ships are a major threat to convoys as they do massive damage at range and as you close in on them they warp away.
The mission commander came over the coms, ôWar Drumb youÆre upàö I responded with a firm roger and started moving towards the gate. My two wings followed. My Harpy hit the gate and in a flash I was jumping into the unknown. I sent out the word to my wings on coms, ôSee you in hellö. They chuckled and made the jump as well.
We hit the other side and started moving. Orienting to a near by planet we I hit gang warp and we started to move. Just as we started to warp away a ship decloaked and stared to lock on one of my wings. His Hawk class tech II assault frigate was set at 180¦ from the planet so it took a bit longer for him to get up to speed and warp away I could hear the excitement over coms. ôCONTACT CONTACTà Tempest BS range 140km. He is trying to lock me!ö

Edited by: War Drumb on 17/08/2006 22:40:03 I knew the scouts would be moving on the Tempest and all we needed to do was get away before the sniper could lock and fire on our ships. As I went to warp I keep saying to my wing, ô Did you get out? Did you get out? He paused for a second and then replied,öroger IÆm out, no damageö.
Once at the planet I activated my shield boost to drain my capacitor and then set gang warp back to the gate. We fell far short of the gate and made a book mark at the spot as a quick safe spot.
The chatter over coms clamed down a bit as we strained to hear the recon pilots repot.
ôDM you have him?ö ôRoger WF he recloked but I am on vector now, he is only 20km from my position. Head to the gate and warp to me when I give you the word.ö
Jr came through the gate next in his Eagle class assault cruiser, along with Fame in his crow class interceptor. From the intel handed down he was able to orientate in the direction of the cloaked enemy ship. At that time we were given the command to warp to DM and search the area.

Edited by: War Drumb on 17/08/2006 22:50:43 Edited by: War Drumb on 17/08/2006 22:49:52 This enemy pilot wasnÆt too bright as he set up his sniper position in the line axis with the gate. With a prototype cloak he would be moving so slow the odds were we would be able to hunt him down fast. It was just a matter of inexperience and we were hoping to be able to teach him an expensive lesson.
As my wing went to warp we could hear that they had found the Tempest Battleship and he had Ferox class battle cruiser with him. We came out of warp within 12km of the enemy and made best speed on the Tempest.
WF and Dm had them both locked down but the damage was going slow and we were still worried about enemy back up showing up. It was a race against time and the clock was ticking. It took the full power of both our Blastathrons to bring down the two enemy ships quick.
The Tempest pilot got away in his pod but his wing wasn't so lucky. Our interceptor locked his pod down and took him out with out a second thought. We quickly gather the cans and warped the fleet to the safe spot we had created while the scout took off to the exit gate to check it out.
Scanners showed that the system had five pilots still in it and none of them seemed to be in space. They would have to be cloaked or in station. Our scouts working in tandem moved out to check the stations for enemy pilots. One would dock while the other keep look out to make sure it was clear for the docked pilot to leave the station. We had time to assess our situation and I had time for a quick brew of the extra coffee rations I had on board. So in the end I guess it was really kind of an ammo/coffee mission. IÆll have to add that to the list of possibilities for this mission, working on the night shift
Sighà

Just an update for all readers of the Enforcer Chronicles
Interest in becoming an Enforcer has swelled with five new cells starting up over empire space. Enforcer advisors have been dispatched to these areas to observe and assist in tactical layouts. All Enforcers know that in the galaxy of eve WE are the insurgent force in a sea of crime. For this reason secrecy has been keep tight.
In my cell area local corporations have banned together to root out and attack local crime groups.
Under the battle slogan ôWe stand aloneà Togetherö These forces have already pushed out three of the four notorious crime lords. Day to day gate campers have been forced to accept positive standing pilots in low sec space or be hunted down and eliminated.
In empire space talks are underway in forming a multi national group for training miners and traders in the basics of thug warfare. Under the title ôThe Academyö, these groups would be trained in anti pirate tactics and unconventional empire warfare.
Graduates of the 6 week courses would be sent back to their local Enforcer cells to pass along the training to the rank and file. Refresher courses would be set up as needed to adapt to the changing battlefield tactics.
Already Enforcer emissaries have approached local battle hardened 00 corporations and asked that Pirate groups not be given sanctuary in their areas. Talks look hopeful but there are still issues to be worked out.
It is our belief that Crime Lords will begin to feel the squeeze as they are pushed between 00 space Corporation units and low sec space multi national Enforcer units.
Saddle up boysà We ride!

I encourage others to take up the sword and show your skill in hunting this elusive pray. It is a target rich environment at this time.

You dont have to be in the same corp. Only in the same gang when the can is taken from.

Nothing stings in eve like the loss of a nice ship that you spent so much time building up. That feeling of loss at the moment you know this ship is not going to make it can impair your judgment to the point that you make even greater blunders in your decision making. That feeling of loss is what I life for; not to feel it myself, but to inflict that feeling on the vile thugs in eve!
We were in empire space liquidating a full belt of rocks for manufacturing of new ships and a bit of spending cash when a known ore thief rolled into system. We all wanted to drop our slow rides and break out in a hunt on the spot but we needed the cash and so we elected three of our pilots to set the trap. Me and my wingman quickly docked and changed out or ships. My wing in his Falcon and me in my Shuttle, yeah you read it right. I left the station in a shuttle.
My wing took his place over the mining op and then he too set his covert cloak to active and was gone. It didnÆt take long for the pirate, fat off his successes to investigate the mining operation. He showed up in the belt in an Eagle! For those who donÆt know the Eagle is a T2 cruiser fondly called a HAC or Heavy Assault Cruiser. Like PavlovÆs dog, my mouth started to water at the thought of taking down such a prized ship in Empire space. This kill would surly set the pirate back a large chunk of change. The Eagle slowly moved into range on the mining fleet but stopped at about 50Km out. The Recon quickly changed course and began to move on the Eagle. He set up only 7km from the pirate ship and waited. But no sooner had the falcon set up when a pirate shuttle warped right on top of our operation. He took a chuck of ore from our can and then ejected his own can. Before the miners could shoot him down he had rolled the whole can over to his and then he was dead as the drones from the hulk mining barges swarmed him.
Moments later a hauler warped into the belt only to find me in my shuttle rolling the ore back to an alliance can. My shuttle had been waiting for just such an action. Now you would think at this point the thieves would see they are out classed and back off. But these guys were not use to taking such a loss I guess. They chose to press on instead of taking the logical path and leaving what has become a risky operation.
My shuttle was soon targeted by the Eagle. I made a deft attempt to warp away but never hit the warp key. My shuttle went up in a ball of fire and I set my pod off in the direction of our 3rd wingman who was only 0.5 Aus away in MY scorpion. Yes the trap was set and now it was time to collect!
When I arrived at the safe point my wingman had already uncloaked the scorpion battleship and ejected from it. I quickly boarded the ship and set my course for WFs position. When I came out of warp I was elated at what I saw.

7km from me was the Eagle blinking red to me and only me. He was my prime target and I quickly locked, webbed, scrambled his warp drive, jammed him and was sucking his cap with my heavy NOS. I opened up with my four T2 siege launcher at point blank. The rings from the explosion radiated out in quick succession dropping his shields as he desperately tried to resist my attack.
Their plan must have been to destroy the mining fleet if they resisted the attack because just as the shields were about gone for the Eagle his wing jumped into the belt on top of the miners in a Raven. I saw that the Raven was blinking red to me and I knew I was blinking red to him for rolling his can back to one of mine. I was worried I would not be able to finish off the Eagle before the Raven would take me out. Just like that the advantage had swung in favor of the enemy pilots. They might have won the day if it wasnÆt for one oversight on their part. The raven that had warped into the fray and was now firing on me was not only red to me. But was red to our Falcon pilot, as well as the five hulks that were still mining. The Falcon pilot decloaked and set full jamming on the enemy Raven, at the same time the five hulks; three set each with one 20km scrambler and two with prototype Webbers and all of them with 5 T2 combat drones set on the Raven with a savage determination. The Eagle went down soon after and I changed the direction of my fire to the already heavily damaged Raven and began the death blows. Our haulers quickly scooped up pirates gear and the last of our ore as we set course for the station and safety.
I had to be on the lookout incase the Eagle pilot choose to reload a ship and return to the battle for a little pay back. But his lose must have sobered him up a bit and he either could not or would not return. We docked without incident. I guess there was more to that battle than the sting of a Scorpion. I have not seen that pirate crew anyplace near our systems for the past two months. I donÆt think they will be back for a whileà if ever.

Well I did some testing and it seems you are correct about the pirate not going red to players not int he corp. Im not sure when this changed but I have killed many a thief this way in the past.
I am goign tohave to look into this now and see what the new rules are regarding can theft.
Thanks for your info

As for the non corp agro I have found the issue. It seems some thugs were using this effect to kill off noobs as an exploit. So about two patches ago they changed the effect. No longer will the gang members be allowed to attack the enemy thieves. Only corp members are now allowed to agro. It is a sad thing as the Enforcers will no longer be able to travel the galaxy helping miners in their time of need. It was a great age when all the players in a system could gang together and then have agro on any thug that was foolish enough to try his had at it.
My hopes are they will work something into the game that will allow this to occur again. Maybe a gang setting called Combat Cooperation. When this happens the Enforcers will be back on patrol in Empire.

When youÆre a small corp looking to make your way in the galaxy of eve things can be quite dangerous. You become a prime target from small bands of Alt thugs looking to get a little war practice or some small time extortionist trying to have some fun killing your members and maybe make some cash along the way.
ItÆs easy to get the feeling that your corp is just not going to make it. You donÆt have the skills or the number to fight off a well skilled group of determined scum suckers. You can feel youÆre just about at the end of your rope. ThatÆs when most call for the Enforcers.
We got a call from a CEO that a one man corp has waged war on his fledgling members. The CEO had some skills so we could see what the issue was. All he had to do was hunt down the enemy pilot and make his life miserable.
But it seemed the enemy pilot was well aware of the CEOs skill and power and so evaded him and focused his efforts totally on the noobs in his corp. This scum was going so far as to track his players 22 system and set up camp just to drive his noobs out of the corp.
To the Enforcers this is where he crossed the line. We saw a duel purpose here. We could give this scum sucker a bloody nose at the same time infuse a sense of jubilation on the noobs in his corp. Let them know that these things can be dealt with if you just know what youÆre doing. And heck, we all like to fight for the little guy from time to time right?
So we contacted the noob that had been targeted most by this scum. He was the obvious bait in our ploy to take him out. We set the trap in low sec so we could get 1st shot on the guy and not alert him to our intentions by war decking him.
The noob moved to low sec and keep watch and sure enough, within 24 hours the scum was in system and tracking him.
Noob move to plnet 3 please 20km. Its just in line with the station your inà you should be able to go to warp as soon as you leave the station.
Rgr that Commander. Going to warp!
The noobs Caracal slipped through warp quickly depositing him at the plant. And within seconds the enemy was there as well. 20km from his target. The scum had shown up in a Vexor. It was an even match if it was noob vs noob. But this guy had skills and know how on his side.
Noob let him make the 1st move. We have you covered.
You could hear the hesitation in the noobs voice. Aaa rr are you sure?
Yes, just relax. Set your orbit to 5km at max speed. Focus your fire on his drones and once heÆs flashing red we will do our job.
Rrr rgr commander.

The Vexor quickly locked the caracal and launched drones. Crimson beams flash from its hull locking onto the quickly approaching Caracal.
My wingman that was watching the battle from behind his cloaked field gave me the go command. I slipped into warp and landed right on top of the battling ships.
I moved with practiced speed as I changed the trajectory of my Crow interceptor and set my orbit about the Vexor pilot at the same time activating my warp scramblers weber and small NOS.
The enemy ship hung there but did not give up the fight. He new he was done for but it was obvious he wanted the Caracal dead. It would all come down to the timing of the recon ship. Would he be able to drop his cloak and get the lock and destroy the Vexor before the drones did their work and took out the Caracal?
The Caracal pilot did his best to work the drones. One by one they exploded in bright flash as his damaged mounted. This was a battle of seconds and just as the caracal hit hull damage the last drone went up in flames.
WOOHOO!! Cried the noob pilot as he knew he had just dodged a bullet. With out being prompted The noob pilot quickly locked the Vexor sitting helpless in his ship. Over local came the noobs wordsà PAY BACK TIME!
We half expected the enemy pilot to detonate his ship to deny the complete victory to the noob. But he held his group and ejected just seconds before his ships reactor was damaged and exploded.
I saw the pod ready to move away in the aftermath but to no avail. I had already locked his pod and had him held in the same null field his ship was held in earlier. The noob pilot was given the corpse as a prize for a job well done. His new found sense of ability lead him form a sense of hopelessness to one of pride and self empowerment.
To this day he is quick to interject to any conversation about being harassed in eve. ôYou canÆt stop the man with a plan!ö

With Concords new legislation on allied theft assistance the efforts of The Enforcers has been greatly curtailed.
We have had to find new and inventive ways to assist law abiding members of our galactic society. We take great risk in these actions, putting our ships and our lives on the line each time for the greater good.
We fly in most the times with a plan that we know works, and it gets shot to pieces not by the pirates but more times than not it is shot down by the very citizens we are trying to protect. When this happens things can go bad fastà real fast.
My wing and I had just left base Tora no Kozuku (Family of Tigers). When the call came in from C and C.
ôTora 1 respondö ôTora 1 to C and C go aheadö
Tora 1 we have reports of an organized ore theft band looking to provoke a group to combat 2 jumps for your location. Can you assist?
The thought quickly came to my mind. Provoking miners hey? They must be flying hulks IÆd bet. Thugs love to provoke hulk pilots for the tech2 gear they have on board and they have the money for the added riggs to optimize their efforts. We had better get their quick before it was to late.
Tora 1 to C and C, Rodger that we are inbound E.T.A. 1 min.

My communications officer made contact with the troubled group and we quickly moved into their gang.
Sure enough it was a group of four hulks with two haulers moving ore out of the belt with a practiced order I had seldom seen in Empire space. The belt was quickly being reduced to nothing but specs of dust and empty secure cargo cans left to tell anyone it was once a roid belt.
After moving into system we quickly aligned in the direction of the allied group and brought our ships to warp speed. The ships shuttered and moaned at the added stress of maintaining the high velocity without making the jump.
The radio *****led and came to life as the recon pilot reported in.
ôTallyho Bangle 1 going to warp. Will report on contact over.ö ôRoger that Bangle 1, good hunting.ö
The silver Flacon slipped into it cloak and was gone. Moments later the call came back.
ôBangle 1 to wing overö ôGo ahead Bangle 1ö
ôWing we have Tango 1 in a shuttle sitting next to a can he has deployed. Corp members two total, members in system one, over.ö
ôRoger Bangle 1, standby.ö
I moved my Manticore out of formation and realigned to the nearest station. Ground control had been notified and a shuttle was waiting for me when I landed on the deck. I changed ships and quickly launched back into space. I made best speed to the mining operation and landed only 0.5 km from the enemy unit and his can. I quickly emptied his can of its contents and re-ejected them into space.
I then gave to ok for the corp to use my can for ore collection. The enemy shuttle pilot then moved the ore to a new can and we were given the rights to shoot.

Edited by: War Drumb on 10/07/2007 22:12:50 The chatter picked up from the miners over the gang link coms system. HES RED! LAUNCHING DRONES!! My response was harsh and immediate. Go ahead and launch on himà. If you want to loose your hulk! The annoying chatter stopped and a felling washed over me like the feeling you get when the drip drip of a sink that has keep you up most the night finely stops and allows you to think again for the first time in a while. I savored the moment and let the silence linger just a bit more to make sure the words hit home and then it was back to work. Wing to Bangle 1, you have tone? Roger wing leader I have the target at optimal. Bangle 1 splash Tango 1! The night sky shimmered and the bird of pray appeared over the enemy shuttle. I donÆt know what kept the enemy pilot there but his hesitation was his down fall. The shuttle was webbed, scrammed and jammed before he tried to make a move. The enemy turned slowly and started to move away but it was too late. The wreck sat about his pob. He lingered only for a moment and then was gone. He headed off in the direction of the station and so we went to defensive actions. Bangle 1 moved his falcon back into the shadows of space slipping quietly into his cloak and moving in a random direction to thwart any attempts at breaking his protective invisibility. I made best speed to station to change ships back to my deadly Manticore. Wing leader to Bangle 2, proceed to station. I will need eyes on space for disembark. Roger wing leader already on station. You are cleared to launch.

Activating the mega pulse thrusters at max velocity rocketed me out of the station launch tube and into space. It felt good to have the weightlessness overtake me once again. The sensation from the interface accessing my mind was manifested by a slight flickering and a quick flash of white light in my minds eye and then the universe opened up to me once again. The ships sensors had become my eyes and from that I could see all things well beyond my limited corporal eyes.
I left the station and set course for the mining operation, coming out of warp well beyond the location of the mining ships. No sooner was I out of warp when I activated my advanced cloak and disappeared into the might. I knew the enemy pilot had kill rights on me for another 10 minutes, so we needed to keep on the defensive till we located the station he was using to deploy his ship. Bangle2 was busy with this task but had no luck as of yet.
The miners were elated at the destruction of the enemy shuttle. You could hear the tones lighten over the com channel. Personally I liked them better when they were nervous. It kept them on edge and they were less likely to do something rash. Less likely to something likeà. like they did next.

No sooner had I cloaked in the roid belt when the enemy pilot came strolling into the belt in a small Caldari frigate with a moderate sized cargo bay call a Bantam. He quickly began to move on the mining operation and sat his ship in their center waiting for a can laden with ore to be dropped.
From behind our cloaked fields we could see he was still a viable target.
Bangle 1 ready to hit this guy again? The response from Bangle 1 was coming across even before I could finish asking the question.
Roger that! Locked and loaded.
Go! Go! Go! I shouted over the coms.
Both his Falcon and my Manticore dropped cloaks and began to lock the enemy target. But he was too deep in the thick of the miners. Our locks matched and we let loose; I with three Wraith cruise missiles and Bangle 1 with two thunderbolt heavy missiles. They tracked to the target as he desperately tried to align with a station and get to speed before the missile could do their deadly work.
At the same time two of the miners in hulks had launched combat drones and sent them in the direction of the enemy. There was a flash and the Bantam was gone. The enemy again warped away and was gone in no time.
There were a lot of cheers over the coms as I tried to cut through the chatter and desperately regain control of the group. When they finally quieted down so they could hear my words it was too late.
GET OUT!! You two miners that launched dronesà GET OUT! He has rights to attack you now.
They slowly gathered there drones and began to move but it was to late. The enemy was back and this time he was in no frigate.
